Art for Understanding
In December 2007, our "Art For Understanding" project debuted in downtown Spokane at the public library. The project was on display for a week and featured artwork, poems, words, and photos taken by youth from across the state of Washington. The goal of the project was to present youth perspective in the hopes of cultivating a greater understanding of the situations and obstacles youth face today. A local television station covered the event and interviewed several of our youth members. We received positive feedback from participants and those who viewed the display. The display was created entirely by youth.
